Infrared sauna – what is it?
An infrared sauna is heated using infrared rays. In a traditional sauna, the heat comes from the sauna stove, which heats up the air. In an infrared sauna, the heat comes from the panels in the walls and floor of the sauna. The heat from these panels can penetrate deeper into the body than heated air, and therefore you get the heat and begin to sweat at lower temperatures than in a traditional sauna.
The pores in your skin will slowly open and your heart will beat a little faster, so that the blood is pumped through the body faster. In this way, waste materials will also be removed more quickly. An infrared sauna session is a calm and relaxing form of therapeutic treatment with many beneficial effects in the body.

The Benefits of Infrared Sauna
Relaxing & Meditative
The tranquil environment creates a unique opportunity for meditation. Meditation and deep relaxation promote mental strength and health.
Muscle Restitution
Infrared sauna penetrates deeper into the muscles, increases blood flow and helps with faster recovery, regardless of how much sport you do.
Deep cleansing
When we sweat, we excrete waste products through the skin. The deep heat penetrates deep and in this way you get rid of toxins and heavy metals from the body.
Reduce Stress
Time in the sauna is calm and enjoyable. It lowers the stress hormone cortisol, and endorphins and other signaling substances are released, leaving you feeling peaceful and at ease.
Circulation & Blood Pressure
An infrared sauna session can be compared to a walk – You sweat, blood vessels dilate, heart rate and circulation increase.
Strengthened Immune Response
The immune system is strengthened as the body’s cells are exposed to mild stress. Reduced cortisol also means our defences are not suppressed.
Great for Skin
Infrared heat improves collagen and elastin production in the skin. After a sauna stay, your skin will feel cleansed and revitalized.
Inflammation
The heat reduces oxidative stress and inflammation. This is supported by the efficient excretion of waste substances through heat and sweating.
Pain Reduction
Studies have shown that regular sauna treatment reduces pain. If you suffer from pain or arthritis, the sauna will provide you with great relief.

Signature Kombis
Why not try the magic the combination of infrared sauna, floating and massage? Our kombi treatments are available for 1 or 2 people, where the 2 people share the sauna and then float in our large float room or in 2 separate floating tanks.
Save with a Klippekort
If you would like to use the sauna regularly, it’s a great idea for you to purchase a klippekort. You can buy it for 1 or 2 people.
Good Advice
For the vast majority of people, going to an infrared sauna is completely unproblematic, and it can even feel uplifting.
If one experiences discomfort, it may be heat discomfort, slight dizziness and perhaps a headache. In these cases, it is usually due to dehydration and perhaps a drop in blood pressure.
Here are some good tips:
- Do not drink alcohol before your sauna session
- Drink a lot of water before and after - you will lose a lot of fluid during the sauna session
- Remove jewellery before your session
- Adjust the temperature to suit - try starting at a lower temperature and raise it gradually
- You will experience optimal results after several sessions
Can everyone use an infrared sauna?
It is generally considered safe for most people to use an infrared sauna, but if you fall into one of these categories, we advise against it. Instead, you can take a trip in one of our lovely floating tanks.
Do not use the sauna if you:
- have a pacemaker fitted or other metallic devices in your body
- are pregnant
- are male and working on making a baby - infrared rays reduce sperm count temporarily
- have an "unstable" heart condition
- have low blood pressure
- have a form of kidney disease
- have an open wound
