Peter Hess® Sound Massage

at Copenhagen Float

The Healing Power of Sound

At Copenhagen Float, we offer Peter Hess® Sound Massage, a gentle yet deeply effective method that uses the therapeutic vibrations of singing bowls to restore balance and harmony to body, mind, and spirit.

During the session, specially crafted singing bowls are placed on and around the body and gently struck with tuned mallets. Because the body is largely composed of water, it naturally absorbs the vibrations, which travel through tissues, organs, and fluids — much like ripples spreading across a lake — creating a state of profound relaxation.

This deep relaxation helps activate the body’s self-healing mechanisms, relieves muscular tension, calms the nervous system, and supports overall wellbeing.

At Copenhagen Float, sound healing massage is offered by Theodora (Theo), a therapist with over 12 years of experience in holistic bodywork. Trained in Physical Therapy at the Higher Technological Institute of Thessaloniki, Theo combines a deep anatomical understanding with an intuitive, restorative approach. Her background spans sports and neuromuscular therapy, deep tissue, and therapeutic massage, allowing her to tailor each sound session with a sensitivity to the body’s structure and energy flow.

Theo’s sound healing treatments integrate her physiotherapy-informed touch with the gentle resonance of Peter Hess® singing bowls, creating a deeply grounding experience that supports physical recovery, calms the nervous system, and restores balance between body and mind.

FAQ

What to expect from your sound healing massage

A session lasts 60 minutes and is performed while you remain fully clothed, lying comfortably on a massage table.

The gentle vibrations of the singing bowls guide the body into a state of meditative relaxation, helping you feel rejuvenated, calm, and balanced.

Is there physical massage during the treatment?

No. During this treatment, the body is “massaged” by the vibrations of sound from the singing bowls. The therapist does not touch the body in the traditional sense. You remain fully clothed while the singing bowls are placed on the body, creating gentle vibrations that work deeply within the body.

Is sound healing suitable for everyone?

Sound Massage is not recommended for individuals with a pacemaker or for those who suffer from severe mental health conditions.

Your therapist will always review your health history to ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you. Reach out to us on [email protected] if you have any questions.

How can I book a sound healing session?
