Lymphatic Drainage

at Copenhagen Float

For swelling, fluid retention, lymphoedema & recovery

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that stimulates the lymphatic system and helps the body eliminate waste products, reduce swelling and support the immune system. The treatment promotes better circulation, the body’s natural cleansing processes and overall well-being.

By improving lymphatic flow, the treatment can help with fluid retention, support recovery and leave you feeling lighter, more relaxed and re-energised.

Lymphatic Drainage FAQ

What is lymphatic drainage and what is it used for?

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique designed to encourage the natural flow of lymph fluid through the body. It can help reduce swelling and fluid retention, support circulation and leave you feeling lighter and more relaxed. It may also be used as part of recovery following certain procedures.

What does lymphatic drainage involve?

Who is lymphatic drainage for?

Lymphatic drainage can be suitable for people experiencing fluid retention, swelling, heavy or tired legs, or those looking to support recovery and general well-being. It can also be incorporated into a broader treatment plan alongside massage, acupuncture and other therapeutic techniques.

What does a lymphatic drainage session look like?

Your session begins with a short consultation to understand your needs and what you would like to get out of the treatment. The massage then focuses on stimulating lymph flow using gentle, rhythmic movements across the body. Your practitioner will adapt the treatment to you throughout the session.

How long does the treatment take and how often should it be repeated?

A standard session is 60 minutes. How often you choose to have treatment depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people benefit from occasional sessions, while others may choose a series of treatments, particularly when supporting recovery.

Does lymphatic drainage hurt?

No. Lymphatic drainage is a very gentle treatment and should not be painful. The pressure is considerably lighter than a traditional deep tissue or sports massage. Most people find the treatment calming and relaxing.

Can lymphatic drainage be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Depending on your individual needs, lymphatic drainage can be incorporated into a broader treatment plan alongside massage, acupuncture and other therapeutic techniques. Your practitioner can help determine which combination is most appropriate for you.
